Local visual artist Josiah Golson is kicking off our 2017 artist residency series! Josiah will work in the art studio from noon to 2 p.m. Each week will focus on different artists that inspire Josiah’s art.

“We are excited to present this new level of artist instruction to our guests which will allow children and adults the chance to meet a professional artist, observe as the artist demonstrates his craft and work directly with the artist to create a unique art form,” said Liza Blair, arts manager at Creative Discovery Museum.

It’s back! AmuseUm will be returning to it’s original weekend in March this year. The theme hasn’t been chosen yet, but we’re sure it’s going to be amazing!

Guests will learn how to follow instructions by reading a recipe to completion as well as use new kitchen skills in our test kitchen as they learn to knead dough and create a pattern in baking cookies.

Creative Discovery Museum invites you to its first ever Drink and Discover where being over 21 has never been so fun.

Have you ever passed by 4th and Chestnut and wondered what was inside the building on the corner? Or maybe you outgrew the Museum long ago and haven’t had a reason to come back yet. Whatever the reason may be, it’s not a valid reason any more.

We are closing the Museum to kids and letting adults 21 and up discover the World of CDM with a drink in their hand and alongside friends.

Experience hands-on science demonstrations that will make the kid inside of you come alive. Create and taste your own herb infused olive oil in Culinary Corner. Relax in the Art Studio with each pass of your paintbrush. Start that rock band you always talked about in our Performing Arts Gallery recording studio. Play a life-size or normal-size game of chess in Kings, Queens & Castles and much, much more.

Admission for Drink and Discover is only $15. Beer and wine tickets are $4 each. Light snacks, a souvenir cup and a good time will be provided. Space is limited save your spot today! Because who said adulting had to be boring?

Please bring a valid photo ID to the event. We will be carding attendees at the door.

Guests will listen to the story and discuss different types of emotions and how to be a good friend. Guests will then be invited to stay and participate in a take-home activity that relates to the reading.
