For parents of children with sensory sensitivity, finding times for the whole family to play without stress can be difficult. But, Sensory Night hopes to provide fun and discovery for everyone at the Museum!

The event offers children with sensory sensitivity and their families exclusive time in the Museum with a low-sensory environment that otherwise might not be possible during regular operational hours. During this time, overhead announcements, food smells, and other sensory inputs will be limited as much as possible.

The skies will darken over Tennessee on August 21, 2017. Are you ready to answer your child’s questions about this year’s solar eclipse? Bring your budding scientist to Creative Discovery Museum to explore the world and beyond at “Earth and Space Day.” Full of interesting activities created in conjunction with NASA, this day will ignite an interest in the universe in your child and will encourage conversation and questions for months to come. Come explore basic concepts and latest explorations of astrobiologists.

Happy Birthday America! Join us as we celebrate Independence Day at Creative Discovery Museum!

From 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. guests can create July 4th inspired crafts. At 1 p.m. the Museum will celebrate America’s birthday with guests over birthday cake and ice cream on the Plaza. Then, at 2 p.m. guests are encouraged to gather with noisemakers, flags and tons of enthusiasm to parade around the Museum. The parade will be complete with lots of noise for the grand finale with bubble wrap “fireworks” as the kids “pop” hundreds of the plastic bubbles. Uncle Sam will be in attendance to read the Declaration of Independence as children learn the meaning behind Independence Day.

Red, White and Blue Days activities are included in paid admission to the Museum. Free admission will be granted on July 4th to all active duty military families when military ID is presented (limit 2 adults and 2 children).
